The Battle of Raphia: Historical game in the
Series 120. (1977) Alexander the Great's empire broke apart into several kingdoms after his death (323 B.C.), each of them attempting to expand at the expense of the others. Two of these, the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt and the Seleucid Kingdom of Syria and Persia, had achieved relative stability. The battle of Raphia is the fifth clash between these two rivals. |
